DroboPro Settings

These settings allow you to configure your DroboPro to best suit your storage needs. You can access the DroboPro Settings page by clicking on the Settings button in Advanced Controls -> Tools in Drobo Dashboard. DroboPro's settings are split into two sections: General and iSCSI.

General

Item Description

Dual Disk Redundancy

Enabling this setting will protect your data against two simultaneous disk drive failures. When enabled, your data is protected by an additional layer of redundancy, but you will have less protected capacity for storage. By default, this option is disabled. You must have a minimum of three drives in DroboPro to utilize this capability.

Disk Drive Spin Down

This option allows you to set a designated amount of time of inactivity before DroboPro spins down your hard drives. Spinning down the drives helps save power and can prolong the life of your hard drives. However, it may take a few moments for the drives to become available after they have been spun down, which will cause a slight delay before you can access your data on DroboPro. By default, this option is set to 15 minutes.

iSCSI

Item Description

Automatically configure

If you have one DroboPro connected to your PC, then you should let Drobo automatically configure your iSCSI connection. Make sure that the network port that you are using to connect your DroboPro to you PC is configured "obtain an IP address automatically". You can set this in System Preferences > Network.

Manually assign an IP address

Assign a manual IP address for your iSCSI connection if you are connecting multiple DroboPro storage arrays to your PC or have a specific requirement for a static IP address on your network.

  • IP Address: The IP Address you would like to assign to the DroboPro's iSCSI port.

  • Subnet Mask: The Subnet Mask you would like to assign to the DroboPro's iSCSI port.

This should be the same as where Drobo Dashboard is running.
