If the Drobo Dashboard appears with a message saying "No Drobo is detected. Please check my connections.", check to see if the data cable is still securely connected between your PC and the Drobo storage device. Additionally, check the power light on the front of your Drobo device. It should be green or amber/yellow if the power is properly connected.
If the data cable is securely connected and the Drobo storage device has power, but Drobo Dashboard is not recognizing the unit then do the following:
If your 1st or 2nd generation Drobo is connected to a network via DroboShare, you may encounter this message because DroboShare did not receive a DHCP-assigned IP address. Most home network routers and modems come with the DHCP server enabled by default. If this is the case for your network, try to restart your DroboShare while it is connected to your network. Simply disconnect and then reconnect your DroboShare power cable.
If you do not have a DHCP server on your home network, DroboShare will be assigned its default IP address of 169.254.213.234. You will need to first assign a PC running Drobo Dashboard with an IP address on the same default network that the DroboShare uses (for example, 169.254.213.210) in order for Drobo Dashboard to detect DroboShare.
Once detected, you can configure the IP address of DroboShare in the DroboShare Settings section: Advanced Controls -> Tools -> Setup in the DroboShare section.
